Why Rachel didn't remember Chandler

I seen a lot of people on sites say how come Rachel didn't remember Chandler when she first met him, well for one thing the writers hadn't got that far ahead of things it was just the pilot

but let's pretend they did.

 Explaining why Rachel didn't remember people.

Well, Rachel didn't really care to remember people she didn't always take much notice of them unless the guys were hot or if there were into her. This makes her come off selfish as she just didn't care for other people apart for herself and her best friend.

Remember her prom, all she cared about was Chip been her date and not wanting to go to the prom alone. Which made Monica not want to go. It was friendship, But Rachel still should have gone with Monica and her date.

When we see another flashback, Rachel, and Monica going to visit Ross at college she got drunk. she even thought Chandler was hitting on her. There ended up kissing, Rachel passes out and doesn't remember anything from that night before. She never remembered Chandler and her kissing. 

This is why she didn't know Chandler, he wasn't into her or a hot guy, Rachel hadn't seen Monica since high school or college. Which looks about 7 years later. In that amount of time, she seemed to forget her best friend, had more relationships, didn't work and came engaged to a DR. Well dentist. So there you go she would never of know Chandler if he walked passed her on the street.

Now Chandler should remember her right?

Even he doesn't remember her. Well, she does have a new nose. He didn't talk to her really at two thanksgivings. He didn't remember kissing her till years later when he and Ross went to the college reunion, he remembered that night like no time had passed. Plus he was upset and drunk that he wanted to get back at Ross for going for a girl he wanted. 

So we can't really blame Chandler for not remembering as well, even if he had fewer relationships than Rachel.

Now to the stoner guy in season 1 who we end up seeing again in season 9 

In Season 1 Ep 15. When Rachel helped out Monica in season one, she spent her time trying to tell Monica this guy was stoned that she didn't get a full-on look at him as she was trying to stop him from messing up the night. That she blocked that night from her head as no one wanted to be reminded how bad it was.

So Season 9 Ep 14. When Pheobe sets the two together Rachel has no clue who he is, 9 years as passed his looks and weight is a bit different. So again we can't blame Rachel for not knowing the guy.

So what does this mean then

So really Rachel didn't care to remember people unless they made an impression on her. 

She remembers Chip Matthews because he was her boyfriend in high school, he messed up her prom night by been late and then making out with another woman.

She remembers Mark as she worked with him, she dated him for a very short while and he gives her a big break in fashion. So, of course, she going to remember him.

She only knew guys that made her feel wanted and helped her in her life.

Well, this wasn't planned out years ahead. Most stories mainly flashbacks were just done for the show. To explain that four of these people have known each other longer. But its a great show and we are overthinking the whole thing.

STORY

We open up to Frankie, Katya, Drac, and Lobo saying their love Halloween, Vida tells them she didn't celebrate Halloween at her old place, The Supermonsters tell her what happens the doorbell goes off at Lobo's Abuelita house and Jorge answers where Cleo, Zoe, and Spike are dressed up.

Sundown Monsters up.

Vida asks Abuelita if she is coming trick or treating sadly no as she is planning a party for Dia de Los Muertos but uncle Jorge and her mum tells Abuelita their have it all under control, Cleo, Zoe and Spike are going to help as there finished trick or treating early.

Abuelita, Igor, Esmee, Katya, Frankie, Drac and Lobo walk out the door to start trick and treating. Vida is feeling scared for her Halloween, Frankie shows the neighbour his trick and Vida loves it, Frankie juggles pumpkins in mega-size and he loses his balance, the pumpkins end up flying everywhere but Abuelita is fast on it and saves them. Katya says her spell which makes a scarecrow dance Drac flies up to do a trick, but he ends up in the tree and his bucket of sweets is knocked out his hands. Lobo he ends up running fast to three houses without saying Thank you so he and Abuelita go back to say it.

Abuelita goes back home to check how everyone is getting along for the party preparation, With a shocking surprise nothing is done she asks the other super monsters who are helping to try help with something else. Vida goes to do first knock for Halloween, the door opens she says Trick or (and is about to say treat) a young man in costume shouts boo. Vida gets scared she runs off saying No, Abuelita says she will get Vida home.

On the scared walk home Vida uses her plant powers making Pitchfork Pines lovely. Maya and Jorge are questioned by there mum if everything is finished for the party of Dia de Los Muertos but there not ready, Cleo, Zoe, and Spike try help finish of there work but when to ask a question to Jorge and Maya there see there have the hands full making the bread and decide to try to it without there help. Zoe comes up with an idea,

With everyone back at the house, Vida asks the Supermonster why there haven't celebrated Dia de Los Muertos before Lobo explains but is interrupted by Frankie asking if they are party games, Drac teleports home for is magic hat, Katya says she can write a spell, Esmee tells them to let Vida explain all about it. The super monsters find out its a celebration holiday to remember the people that are no longer with them, like Abuelita husband who was a wonderful werewolf who also was fast like Lobo and full of life and caring like Vida. Esmee remembers it's like a song "together again" she plays it on her guitar Jorge joins in the singing.

When everyone goes outside to see what been done Abuelita is shocked how big a sugar skull is, a burnt the bread, Spike says he should have asked how big to do the balloon, Igor charms in and says that the children should have asked and even grow-ups should have asked for help, a big gust of wind blows the large sugar skull around Pitchfork pines neighbourhood, the super monsters start to chase it using their powers. Vida uses her plant power to make a string that hooks on the sugar skull and manages to slow down the balloon. As she small and light the balloon starts to drag her, Zoe grabs Vida as there go through a fence with Zoe's powers still been dragged by the balloon, Lobo runs to help Frankie mega sizes pulling the vine string which stops and everyone can heads towards the fire station where the party ends up and all Pitchfork Pines neighbours come to see what's going on.

With everything now set up, Frankie sees a table covered in flowers a picture of her late husband asks he asks Abuelita what it's for she explains its an Ofrenda known an offering its to remember the people that came before us.

Vida turns around and sees that Kayta is further away from the party who is looking very sad both girls share a moment on how there feel about Halloween and Dia de Los Muertos. Katya sayings she doesn't like to think about the people that are gone that it makes her feel sad. Lobo tries to help make Katya better. Esmee and Jorge sing together again and everyone starts to dance to celebrate.

We look up at the moon to see Abueltio.
